Success after almost three years

Postby CPA21 » Sat May 29, 2010 11:35 pm

My citizenship was recognized through the NY consulate after almost three years of work. I called for my first appointment Septemebr 2007. I received my citizenship May 2010.

I owe people both living and dead for my success!

I had my Passport appointment at the NY consulate today, June 4. I showed up early with all my do****ents filled out and I had already copied my US passport. The passport is apparently the new digital passport. At least they scanned in the fingerprints of my index fingers. Three hours later I left the consulate with my Italian passport in my hand!

I was recognized on Friday May 28th and received my passport a week later!

If you do some digging on this forumn you will read that I have had the infamous certificate of nonexistence problem for the better part of a year and I had my most recent appointment in March the same week that it was resolved, at least temporarily, in my favor

Complimenti!

I just got mine too a few days ago and now have my passaporto italiano in hand.

It seems strange that the deed is done.

Congratulations to both of you!

Terminus, if you miss all of the work that went into getting your citizenship recognized, you can always 'pay it forward' by staying active on these boards and using the knowledge and experience you've gained to help others who are following in your footsteps.

Oh, I have been. Plus I'm helping my sister and cousins with their cases now.
