I submitted an order in January for a birth certificate from Italy and, while I understand the process takes a long time, I have not heard anything back from the My Italian Citizenship staff in seven months after several e-mails. Can anyone confirm if this company is still up and running and providing these services? Thanks!

Provided you didnt tell us what company. I suggest your write to the commune that your ancestor was born in asking for there birth certificate.

I too continue to write and call ICGS with no response, or confirmation that my request for an Italian birth certificate has been processed. Has anyone else heard from them lately?

Hey tdapnyc,

I submitted my request in January and didn't hear anything from them until July, when I got a more or less automated notice that they had found my do****ent and needed to confirm my mailing address. The do****ent arrived a few days later, and they delivered exactly as promised -- but it would have been good to get any sort of human acknowledgment to my multiple follow-up e-mails. All in all though, they got the job done for me.

Thanks for your reply, rfhoward. It's a shame that there's radio silence on orders, since everything else with ICGS seems to be so helpful and informative. The only communication I received upon ordering was from Paypal. I think a simple email stating "Your request has been submitted to the commune of your Italian ancestor" would make all the difference and would likely cut down on the amount of followup email that ICGS receives. It would also take the customer experience from "pretty good" to "great" IMO.

ICGS typically doesn't respond to posts on the message board. They simply host the board as a resource and it's all volunteers and former applicants here. You'd have to try to contact them directly via the info on their website.
